Switzerland-based offshore drilling company Transocean has won a multi-million-dollar commission for one of its ultra-deepwater drilling vessels in the eastern Mediterranean.
Across oceans Deep Water Asgard A drillship has been hired under contract for five wells in the eastern Mediterranean with an undisclosed operator. The 390-day campaign is expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2026 and contribute approximately $158 million to the backlog.
This does not include additional services and compensation for mobilization and demobilization. With a capacity of 200 people and a maximum drilling depth of 40,000 feet, the 2014-built DSME 12000 dual-action drillship Deepwater Asgard can conduct activities in water depths of up to 12,000 feet.
