French technology containment specialist Gaztransport & Technigaz (GTT) has been awarded the tasks of designing a new tank for a dual liquefied natural gas carrier (LNGC) with South Korea’s Samsung Heavy Industries.
GTT has received an order from Samsung Heavy Industries shipyard to design the tanks for two new LNG tankers on behalf of Celsius Corporation, the shipowner.
The French player claims that each ship, with a capacity of 180,000 cubic metres, will have its own cryogenic tanks.
These tanks will be fitted with a Mark III Flex membrane containment system. The ships are expected to be delivered between the second and third quarters of 2028.
This order comes shortly after the GTT I got another deal With Samsung Heavy Industries to design a tank for a new LNG vessel on behalf of an Asian shipowner.
