The Baltic Exchange’s dry bulk freight index, which monitors prices for ships carrying dry bulk commodities, rose for a second session on Tuesday, adding 11 points to 2,677 points, driven by gains in all ship segments.
The cargo volume index, which usually transports 150,000 tons of cargo including iron ore and coal, advanced 22 points to 4,304 points. The Panamax index, which usually carries between 60,000 and 70,000 tons of coal or grain, rose 9 points to 1,966 points.
Among small ships, the Supramax index rose two points to 1,542 points.
