Taehan Company manufactures and installs submarine cables for solar power plants in South Korea


South Korean company Taihan Cable & Solution has been selected to manufacture, transport and install ultra-high voltage submarine cables for a local solar power generation project.

Taihan The company will supply 154 kV cables, joints and all related materials, as well as provide installation to EPC contractor Topsolar Group for a project in Sinan Province, designed to transmit electricity generated from the Pegium Solar Power Plant and the Dojo Floating Solar Power Plant to the Angua Substation.

The cables will be manufactured at the company’s No. 1 submarine cable plant in Dangjin, while submarine cable installation specialist Taihan Ocean Works, which was acquired in July 2025, will be responsible for transportation and cable laying. The project represents the first cooperation between the two entities.

Based on our proven technological expertise and installation capabilities, we will continue to strengthen our position in the global submarine cable market as a comprehensive solutions provider.” Taihan said.

In addition Current construction of the second submarine cable factorywhich will be capable of producing 640kV HVDC submarine cables, Taihan revealed that it is also reviewing plans to secure an additional cable laying vessel (CLV).
