Energy technology company Baker Hughes has opened a new offshore services center and manufacturing plant in Norway as part of its ambition to boost its capabilities in the North Sea.
The 49,000-square-meter facility, located in Dusavvik near Stavanger, includes a 12,000-square-meter workshop, multiple test bays, and the ability to recreate pressures of up to 22,500 psi, allowing equipment to be tested for the most demanding subsea conditions, the company said.
The Center of Excellence for Marine Services will also be powered entirely by renewable energy sources.

according to Baker HughesThe facility supports all phases of subsea projects, from the fabrication of subsea production trees and wellheads to the comprehensive overhaul, maintenance and modernization of subsea equipment, including control systems, as well as serving as an offshore production services centre, enabling installation, intervention and decommissioning activities.
The news comes after the company opened a delivery and abandonment center of excellence in Norway in 2025. As for other centers in the North Sea, Baker Hughes’ manufacturing facilities in Montrose and Newcastle in the UK provide operators with subsea trees and flexible piping systems.
