The Baltic Dry Index settles two days in advance


The Baltic Exchange’s dry bulk shipping index, which monitors prices for ships carrying dry bulk goods, snapped a two-day winning streak on Wednesday, falling 0.3% to 2,670 points.

The ship volume index, which typically transports 150,000 tons of cargo including iron ore and coal, fell 0.5% to 4,283 points. Supramax fell 0.5% to 1,534 points.

On the other hand, the Panamax index, which usually carries between 60,000 and 70,000 tons of coal or grain, rose 0.7% to 1,979 points.
