The Baltic Exchange’s dry bulk shipping index, which monitors prices for ships carrying dry bulk goods, snapped a three-day winning streak on Monday, falling about 0.7% to 2,017 points.
The ship volume index, which typically carries cargo weighing 150,000 tons including iron ore and coal, fell 0.9% to 3,004 points, after three consecutive sessions of gains. The Benmax index, which usually carries between 60,000 and 70,000 tons of coal or grain, fell 0.8% to a seven-week low of 1,742 points.
Among small ships, the Supramax index fell three points, or 0.3%, to 1,203 points.
