Brokk introduces the EL500 battery-powered compact loader to the North American market

Brokk recently launched its EL500 battery-powered compact loader across North America, marking the company’s latest addition to its portfolio of zero-emission construction equipment. The compact loader combines high-torque electric motor technology with enhanced maneuverability to meet the growing demand for sustainable jobsite technology.

“The EL500 offers our customers a compact loader that meets today’s sustainability standards without sacrificing productivity,” said Jeff Keeling, Brokk’s vice president of sales and marketing. “This machine is designed for indoor and outdoor job sites and gives contractors the flexibility to work longer and harder with lower overall operating and maintenance costs.”

The EL500 lifts up to 1,110 pounds while efficiently working through full shifts on a single battery charge. Brokk Inc. As a distributor of Ecovolve equipment in North America, the Irish manufacturer provides the Irish manufacturer’s electrical solutions to construction and demolition contractors throughout the region.

The machine addresses increasing regulatory pressure around emissions while maintaining the productivity levels contractors expect from traditional diesel-powered equipment. Construction companies face increasing requirements to reduce their environmental footprint, especially in interior projects and in urban environments with strict emissions controls.

Compact design enables versatile applications

The EL500’s compact footprint is less than 32 inches, allowing contractors to work in spaces larger machines cannot reach. Ecovolve loaders are specially designed to avoid scratching or damaging finished surfaces, making them suitable for interior renovation and construction projects.

Low noise operation helps users comply with noise restrictions and regional regulations, which is especially important for urban construction projects with strict restrictions on operating hours. The machine produces lower vibration levels while improving operator comfort and supporting longer operating cycles and safer working conditions.

The loader features a communication system that produces audible and visual warning systems via work lights, alerting operators of machine conditions and maintenance requirements. This feedback system helps prevent equipment failures and maintains operational safety standards.

Heavy duty construction handles tough applications

Engineers designed the EL500 with a heavy-duty chassis and reinforced construction to withstand the challenges of demolition and high-impact applications. The machine features a lift capacity of 1,100 pounds with a low center of gravity and unique pivot points that allow for a core dump of 1.9.

Interchangeable attachments improve versatility across multiple project phases, including bucket, hydraulic breaker, floor scraper, vacuum lifter, loader and pallet fork options. This variety of attachments allows contractors to use one machine across various construction phases, reducing equipment rental and transportation costs.

Lower operating costs lead to economic benefits

The EL500 engine reduces operating and maintenance costs compared to diesel-powered alternatives by eliminating fuel and oil change requirements and reducing moving parts that require maintenance. Quick access panels simplify service requirements, reducing downtime and maintenance costs.

The 9.6 kWh AGM battery delivers consistent power while reducing operating costs and maintaining smooth operation. Battery technology provides predictable operating costs compared to volatile fuel prices, helping contractors better manage project budgets.

Ecovolve, founded in 2010, operates as an electrical equipment manufacturer based in Ireland. Brokk has been manufacturing remote controlled electric demolition machines and accessories for 50 years, serving construction, demolition, mining, tunneling, cement processing, nuclear and specialty applications worldwide through continuous innovation in engineering and design.
