Malaysian owner and operator of energy-related floating marine solutions and services, MISC Group, a member of the PETRONAS group of companies, has revealed the naming of its new generation liquefied natural gas carrier (LNGC), strengthening its partnership with SeaRiver Maritime (SRM), a wholly-owned subsidiary of US-based ExxonMobil.
While announcing the naming of its new LNG carriers, Diane series and Dayang seriesOn May 7, 2026, for SeaRiver Maritime, MISC explained that the 174,000 cubic meter vessel duo was built by Hanwha Ocean. These vessels are equipped with smart, energy-efficient technologies, including an Intelligent Control by Exhaust Recirculation (ICER) system and an enhanced cargo containment system with lower boil-off rates to improve efficiency and support safer operations.
The naming ceremony has been honored previously Hanh Nguyenwho served as matron of both ships. The event was attended by representatives of ExxonMobil, SeaRiver Maritime, Hanwha Ocean Shipyard, and the Lloyd’s Register classification society, as well as senior management from the MISC Group.
The ship names are said to continue the tradition of Seri naming the Malaysian giant, which is seen as reflecting the excellence, heritage and enduring spirit of maritime excellence in the country. While dayan signifies radiant brilliance, dayang is considered to represent elegance and grace, enhancing the fleet’s symbolic identity.

With the addition of the LNG carriers Seri Dian and Seri Dayang, MISC now operates four LNG carriers under a long-term charter with SeaRiver Maritime. The Asian company’s LNG fleet reaches 32 ships with the arrival of these two ships, which strengthens its position among the world’s leading owners and operators of LNG carriers.
