Subsea7 seals multi-million dollar deal for Norwegian gas export project


Luxembourg-based Subsea7 has secured a new assignment with Vår Energi, a Norwegian oil and gas company, for a gas export project in the Barents Sea off the coast of Norway.

The Luxembourg-based company’s scope of work includes the engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) of a 12.7 km long, 10-inch diameter non-insulated carbon steel pipeline, along with the installation of the associated subsea infrastructure required to safely and reliably connect the gas export system.

The strategic partnership agreement is a collaboration between Vår Energi, Subsea7 and OneSubsea, and was concluded in March 2026. The subsea player explains that project management and engineering activities will start immediately from its office in Stavanger, while offshore operations are scheduled to take place during the period 2027-2028.

Subsea7 has recently set up several new missions, including one that is part of the Subsea Integration Alliance (SIA), which ExxonMobil Hired to provide EPCI’s scope of work for its offshore oil project off Angola.
