Italian energy giant Eni has concluded three new long-term agreements to supply liquefied natural gas (LNG) for its gas project duo in Indonesia and Southeast Asia.

While he revealed the signing of three agreements with liquefied natural gas sellers Southern axis and Northern axis Gas projects for LNG procurement in Indonesia, Eni explains that these contracts further strengthen its global LNG portfolio and strengthen the role of the Southeast Asian country as a strategic supplier to regional and international markets.
Both projects are operated by the Italian energy giant with a material contribution averaging more than 80% across the two centres. Long-term deals, which relate to the volumes of LNG coming from Eni Operating gas development projects In the Kuti Basin, their cumulative volumes are approximately 2 million tons per annum (mtpa).
The company stressed: “The agreements confirm Eni’s integrated growth strategy, which combines upstream gas development, efficient use of LNG infrastructure, and access to global markets, while supporting the region’s growing energy needs and energy transition through reliable, low-carbon energy supplies.”
The company confirms that liquefied natural gas will be supplied through its current line Bontang LNG facilities in East Kalimantan, including by reactivating one train that had been idle for several years, thus making the most of Indonesia’s existing energy infrastructure.
These additional quantities of LNG are expected to further diversify and strengthen Eni’s integrated global portfolio, supporting the company’s capabilities. The goal of reaching More than 20 million tons per year of contracted LNG supplies by 2030
The company’s net production in Indonesia is about 90 thousand barrels of oil equivalent per day, most of which is from Cricket game and Mirax Offshore fields in East Kalimantan.
