Oslo Stock Exchange-listed oil services company Archer is set to acquire isol8, a Scottish well technology company focused on alloy-based barrier solutions and advanced materials for use in well completions, intervention, plugging and abandonment (P&A).

The transaction is expected to close later in the second quarter of 2026, subject to customary regulatory approvals.
According to Archer CEO Dag Skindlo, the acquisition brings valuable technologies and talent to Archer, with isol8 solutions to strengthen and expand the company’s plug portfolio and develop its subsea and platformless P&A offerings.
“Archer’s global reach and established customer base create a strong platform to scale the deployment of Isol 8 technologies across the entire well lifecycle. Together, we have the opportunity to expand adoption of our existing alloy barrier products and accelerate the commercialization of our emerging metallic element technology.” Andrew LowdenFounder and CEO of isol8 noted.
Archer last month Announced a multi-year contract extension with Norwegian energy giant Equinor to work on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS), building on the integrated wireline contract originally awarded in 2021.
