Graycliff Exploration has announced its first results from drilling at the Shakespeare Gold Project 84 kilometers west of Sudbury, Ontario. From Pit A, the company’s first test, results showed an extremely high grade of 3,030 g/t gold over one metre.
Other results include 454.34 g/t gold over 7 metres, and 83 g/t gold over 1 metre.
“While we drilled this hole close to previous drilling intervals that contained gold, it is clear that the gold value of this intersection far exceeds our expectations,” said James McIntosh, president of Graycliff. “These results are very encouraging, and while we recognize that it is all about the ‘average grade’, high grade intersections like these boost the overall average.”
Graycliff said it is evaluating all project data after drilling 61 holes, with gold prices rising, to improve models and plan future operations.
The Shakespeare Gold Mine operated from 1903 to 1907. To date, Graycliff has drilled more than 12,500 meters on potential ground located on the Canadian Shield. The company expects inspection results for the remaining two mineral test slots in the coming weeks, as it begins to revitalize work on Shakespeare.
