Itron released its 2025 Corporate Sustainability Report, which highlighted operational emissions reductions and how its technology worked alongside customers to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
Sustainability is at the core of the company’s values, said Tom Dietrich, Itron’s president and CEO. “As utilities face increasing pressures from aging infrastructure, extreme weather, resource scarcity and affordability concerns, our work remains focused on helping them operate more efficiently, reliably and sustainably,” Dietrich said in a press release.
The company said Scope 1 and 2 emissions were down 11% from 2024, representing a roughly 56% decline from 2019 numbers. The company said it remains targeting carbon neutrality by 2035 and net zero emissions by 2050.
Itron also said its systems enabled customers to avoid approximately 8.7 million tons of greenhouse gases in 2025.
The report details governance and safety measures, including the completion of company-wide conduct training and the introduction of an anti-money laundering policy.
Itron provides energy and water management systems used by utilities around the world, and provides digital tools to monitor emissions reduction efforts.
