Niobium and Critical Minerals of North America (NIOB) (CSE: NIOB, FSE: KS82.F, OTCQB: NIOMF) announced the first drill results from its 2026 exploration program at the Pardee property in Quebec, intersecting eight meters of cyanitic pegmatite in a primary drill hole. The company said the time lag is important because cyanitic pegmatite can bind to niobium and rare earth element mineralization. Assays are pending.
The Pardee project is one of several important mineral properties in Quebec that the company is developing as it targets niobium and rare earth discoveries in Grenville County.
Early exploration results
According to the company, the drilling program is designed to test geophysical and geological targets identified through previous exploration work. The syenitic pegmatite intercalation supports the geological model being evaluated at Pardee and provides additional targets for follow-on drilling.
“We are encouraged by the first drill hole at Pardee,” said Murray Nye, CEO of Niobium North America. “The syenite pegmatite intersection validates our targeting approach and supports continued exploration of the property.”
The eight-metre-long syenite pegmatite gap was found within a wider area of altered syenite rocks during drilling at the Bardi target, the company said. Management noted that the presence of these rocks is consistent with the geological setting associated with niobium-bearing alkaline systems and supports the possibility of a larger mineral system on the property. The company plans to use the results to improve its geological model and guide future drilling operations.
The company also said that drilling is still ongoing, with additional test results and geological interpretations expected as the program progresses.
