Toss brings 30 million users to the AI data economy in partnership with Poseidon

June 26, 2026 – Palo Alto, United States

Toss users can now contribute real-world data to train AI and get paid for it, in a first-of-its-kind model to be launched in Korea ahead of global expansion.

PoseidonTOS, the data infrastructure designed to source and license real-world data for AI, today announced a partnership with Toss, the mobile financial platform powered by Viva Republica, to allow everyday users to contribute to AI training and get paid for what they contribute. It’s Toss’s first step into AI data, opening up that market to nearly 30 million users.

The Internet has run out of Frontier AI to dispose of. The next generation of models relies on real-world data, the kind that captures how people actually talk, move and interact, which doesn’t exist on the open web and has never had a clean way to source, license or pay for it. Poseidon is building the infrastructure to change that, and Toss provides the access to do so at scale.

Through the partnership, Poseidon’s contributor Numo app will be launched within the Toss app. Toss users can help build training data in Korean via audio, image, and video, and receive payments directly linked to what they contribute. Poseidon provides the infrastructure that tracks each contribution and its value, while Toss provides the user base and financial expertise that turns engagement into payment. Together they provide a practical answer to a question the AI industry has struggled to answer: how to compensate people whose data improves models.

Every contribution made by Numo is recorded on DATA, the AI data network that Poseidon cleans data for. The data provides each track record with verifiable provenance through Trace, its public audit layer, so the purchaser can see where a piece of training data came from and the contributor can know that their work has been counted and paid for. The DATA Foundation, which launched the new Story brand this week, is building this layer alongside integration partners including human data marketplace Kled, and Poseidon is one of the largest sources of refined data flowing to it.

What Numo collects is first-person data, recorded by real people in real environments, and is among the hardest and most valuable categories to obtain. It is the raw material for physical intelligence, the artificial intelligence that must operate in the physical world via robots, self-driving vehicles, and other applications. Demand from global AI labs for this type of data is increasing, and Korea is well placed to supply it with its dense real-world data and Toss user base. Poseidon and TOS intend to prove the model in Korea, then expand to global markets.

“As the AI industry grows, the demand for high-quality data is rising just as quickly,” said Changhoon Seo, CEO of New Business at Toss. “Toss plans to build an environment where users can participate in the data economy more easily and naturally, and to expand a structure in which the value they contribute is transparently rewarded.”

“Korea is one of the few markets where the strategic importance of AI data, a mature financial system, and a world-class mobile experience exist simultaneously,” said Si Lee, Chief Strategy Officer and Chairman of Poseidon. “Toss is the right partner to transform user-contributed AI data from an early idea into a standard that the rest of the world can adopt.” Lee previously founded web novel platform Radish and sold it to Kakao Entertainment, co-founded Story, the intellectual property infrastructure recently renamed DATA Foundation, and was named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum this year.

About Poseidon

Poseidon It is the data infrastructure for AI, designed to capture, optimize and license the real-world data that leading models need and the open Internet cannot provide. Incubated by the team behind the DATA Network, Poseidon bridges the gap between data supply and demand for AI by enabling access to high-quality, IP-secure, composable training datasets. Poseidon has raised a $15M seed round led by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z). Poseidon contributor Numo has recorded over 711,000 data recordings worldwide and is now live and available on the Toss app.
