Norwegian energy services provider Aker Solutions has been hired on a long-term assignment to handle engineering and maintenance work for the asset located approximately 350 kilometers east of St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada.

Aker Solutions has signed a five-year agreement worth between NOK 0.5 billion ($50.6 million) and NOK 1.5 billion ($151.8 million), with Cenovus Energy For engineering and maintenance services on White rose area The assets are on the eastern edge of the Jeanne d’Arc Basin.
The Norwegian player’s scope of work includes comprehensive engineering, maintenance and operations support for the new Western White Rose platform and FPSO Ciruse. The business will be led from Aker Solutions’ office in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, with approximately 120 employees working domestically and abroad.

The company has provided marine engineering services for the White Rose field since 2005, including towing and installation of the Concrete Gravity Structure (CGS), onshore commissioning, and the connection and offshore commissioning of the West White Rose platform, which is expected to begin production in 2026.
The Norwegian company has also been providing EPCM services to the FPSO SeaRose since 2005, including onshore engineering, procurement and work preparation for the FPSO’s final Life Extended Drydock (LED) campaign in 2024.
The multi-year deal comes more than a month after Aker’s exit Believer Front-end engineering and design (FEED) function for Equinor’s subsea gas condensate interconnection development project in the Norwegian North Sea.
