Glencore Technology has appointed Tim Shea as its new CEO. In a press release, the Australian technology company said that Shea took over the position on May 18, 2026.
Shea started what later became Glencore Technology more than 20 years ago. He worked on the early development and implementation of IsaMill, the company’s leading micro milling solution. “You’ll see my name on some of the first IsaMill graphics from when we first developed this technology,” Shea said.
In subsequent roles, he led Glencore Technology’s global aftermarket strategy in Africa and the Americas, with broader delivery responsibilities, including customer partnerships, engineering and procurement.
In 2024, Shea is appointed to lead the transition of the company’s Philippine Associated Smelting and Refining (PASAR) operations to the Care and Maintenance Program. He added: “I am proud of the way we have handled the program at PASAR. It has been delivered ethically, with a strong focus on supporting the affected workforce and maintaining strong environmental standards.”
As the new CEO, Shea said his focus is on sustainable growth in the mining industry, which he said faces “complex challenges.”
“Our role is to provide solutions that address these challenges while consistently meeting and exceeding our customers’ expectations for service and support,” Shea concluded.
