Analysts: The worst period for Ethereum is over – is ETH about to crush BTC?

Ethereum could be about to see a significant price rise after its painful declines in late 2025 and early 2026 that took it down towards $1,500.

July has already started in full swing, with double-digit days. However, this comes after two consecutive monthly double-digit declines.

Is the worst over?

“The worst period for ETH is over,” noted analyst Michael van de Poppe on X in a post this weekend. He believes the altcoin is shooting higher and forming a higher bottom against the market leader, which means “we are back in the uptrend.”

This comes after ETH closed the month of June in the red, marking its third consecutive quarter with significant losses for the first time ever. Moreover, each of them rose by more than 20% – 28.28% in the fourth quarter of 2025, another 29.26% in the first quarter of 2026, and 25.28% in the second quarter of this year. Given the importance and rarity of this moment, “the chances of there being four in a row are statistically very low,” Van de Poppe said.

Him too shown The long-awaited but not certain Clarity Act, which is expected to be signed into law by the end of the year and will benefit Ethereum much more than other assets, including BTC. He believes the potential approval “will open up more liquidity flowing into the ETH ecosystem.”

Triple-digit rally against BTC next?

Merlijn The Trader shared a similar bullish opinion on ETH, especially against BTC. This is because ETH fell to 0.026 against the market leader, a historically important level that launched a major rally in the past.

He noted that the last time this signal appeared, the largest altcoin outperformed Bitcoin by more than 230%. ETH peaked at over 0.043 against Bitcoin in August last year when it charted ATH against the US dollar, but has mostly declined since then.

It actually dropped below 0.026 in the last few weeks, but it managed to bounce back and is now at the 0.028 level. If it wants to replicate its previous 230% rise, it could break above 0.08, a level not seen in four years.
