OneSubsea, a joint venture backed by SLB, Aker Solutions and Subsea7, has been awarded a contract that it says is one of the largest confidential contracts awarded in the industry to date, for a field development project in Indonesian waters.

The contract, awarded by Eni North Ganal Limited, a subsidiary of Searah Limited, a joint venture company between Eni and Petronas, will see OneSubsea deliver an umbilical steel piping system for the Kutei North Hub field development project offshore East Kalimantan.
The company will design, procure and manufacture 94.6 km of umbilical pipes for water depths of up to 2,200 metres. With a total system weight of approximately 6,700 tons and a design pressure of 10,000 psi, the project is described as one of the largest confidential contracts awarded in the industry to date.
“Operators are looking for partners who can help them move projects forward with confidence.” He said Mads HelmelandCEO of SLB OneSubsea. “This award demonstrates how we combine technical expertise and innovative manufacturing capabilities to support efficient project execution and rapid delivery, while maintaining the reliability and performance required for deepwater development projects.”
OneSubsea said it will integrate the Oscilay and planetary production lines for the project, thus increasing production efficiency and significantly reducing delivery timelines compared to traditional single-line methods.
The project also includes the production of one continuous bed, 30 kilometers long, weighing approximately 2,100 tons, and requiring large-scale specialized rotating capacity for manufacturing and storage.
The development of the Kutei North Hub entails drilling 16 producing wells at water depths between 1,700 and 2,000 meters and installing subsea systems linked to a newly built FPSO capable of processing more than 1 billion standard cubic feet per day of gas and 90,000 barrels per day of condensate, with a storage capacity of 1.4 million barrels.
Italian engineering, drilling and construction services giant Saipem recently won an award $2 billion mission Related to the FPSO unit assigned to the project.
