First Atlantic Nickel and Cobalt (TSXV: FAN, OTCQB: FANCF) It has been added to the Nasdaq Sprott Nickel Miners Index (NSNIKL), effective June 22, 2026. The Sprott Nickel Miners Index tracks nickel producers, developers and explorers globally. It serves as the main criterion for the overall performance of the sector.
The news comes as First Atlantic develops the Pipestone XL nickel-cobalt project in central Newfoundland. The project extends over a 30-kilometre-long supramafic belt, which includes multiple areas of awarite, a magnetic alloy of nickel, iron and cobalt. The company produces high-quality concentrated ingots of Pipestone XL using magnetic separation and flotation systems.
Pipestone XL is located in an established infrastructure corridor with road access, close to hydroelectric power and 200 kilometers from Gander International Airport. First Atlantic said the project is in line with growing US interest in safer critical mineral supply chains.
The company said its inclusion in NSNIKL came after the semi-annual rebalancing meeting of the index.
