Piraeus Container Terminal, one of the leading container terminals in the Mediterranean region, is a company incorporated in Greece and a wholly controlled subsidiary of COSCO SHIPPING Ports Limited (a leading container terminal operator ranked #1 in the world). Effective 1 October 2009, PCT SA has for 35 years been implementing the concession agreement for Berths II and III, which, after an international tender process, PPA SA has assigned to COSCO Pacific Limited (currently known as COSCO SHIPPING Ports Limited), to which the tender has been awarded. PCT SA’s main activities are to provide loading, unloading and warehousing services for imported and exported containers moving through the Port of Piraeus, including shipments that use Piraeus only as a transit station (transshipment cargo). The strategic location of Piraeus, being the first European port after the Suez Canal with direct connection to the EU road and rail network, makes it not only an ideal port for destinations in the Mediterranean and Black Sea, but a sustainable partner for all distribution and logistics stakeholders in EMEA.
