The Baltic Exchange’s dry bulk shipping index, which monitors prices for ships carrying dry bulk goods, rose for a third session on Tuesday, rising about 1.8% to its highest level since March 5 at 2,095 points.
The cargo volume index, which typically transports 150,000 tons of cargo including iron ore and coal, also rose for a third day, rising 2% to its highest level in more than a month at 3,148 points. The Panamax index, which usually carries between 60,000 and 70,000 tons of coal or grain, rose 1% to 1,802 points.
Among small ships, the Supramax index rose 0.6% to 1,231 points.
