Australian energy company Santos has revealed a timetable for the resumption of production at its gas project off the coast of the Northern Territory in Australia.

As preparations for the resumption of production continue, commissioning is currently expected to take place around April 18, 2026. Initial LNG production began following the completion of the Darwin LNG Life Extension Project and the cooling of the LNG train and storage tank.
The FPSO BW Opal unit, located in the Barossa gas field, approximately 285 kilometers offshore Darwin in Australia’s Northern Territory, is expected to feed the Darwin LNG plant over the next two decades.
