Brokk is hiring Canada’s first dedicated service manager

hernia It has appointed Roy Ortega as its first dedicated service manager in Canada, marking a significant expansion of the remote-controlled demolition machinery manufacturer’s operations in North America.

An experienced field service specialist will handle new machine startups while troubleshooting and repairing equipment for customers across the country. His appointment comes as Brokk works to strengthen its presence in Canada following the 2024 opening of a new Brokk and Aquajet distribution center in Hamilton, Ontario.

The distribution center simplifies ordering and shipping for Canadian customers, while Ortega joins a growing team of industry experts who provide expanded in-country support and service to Brokk and Aquajet customers.

“Having a dedicated service manager in Canada is a big step forward,” said Lars Lindgren, President of Brokk. “It greatly enhances our ability to efficiently serve Canadian customers, especially when they need a Brokk technician on-site. After-sales support is critical, and Roy understands that. He is a highly skilled and experienced mechanic who has been in the trenches and delivering.”

Ortega brings more than 20 years of experience to his new position. The Red Seal Journeyman began his career as a mechanic in the automobile, truck, and rail industries before Cooper Equipment Rentals hired him as a field service technician and diesel mechanic. He most recently served as Area Service Manager for United Rentals, where he managed fleet operations and maintenance for six branches in the Greater Toronto Area.

His extensive background includes working with all types of heavy construction equipment, including electrical equipment, and collaborating with original equipment manufacturers to maintain equipment in optimal condition.

“Brokk offers first-class manufacturer support,” Ortega said. “They don’t just say they’re committed to after-sales service, they really are. As a service manager, I have all the resources at my fingertips, so I can move quickly and get customers to work.”
