Grayscale cuts its Q2 altcoin watchlist, drops consumer tokens and adds AI names


Grayscale has narrowed its list of crypto assets under review for potential inclusion in future investment products in the second quarter of 2026. The company narrowed the list to 30 tokens from 36 tokens in the previous quarter and dropped an entire category tied to consumer-facing cryptocurrency projects.

The asset manager’s updated list of “assets under consideration” includes four sectors: smart contract platforms, financial assets, artificial intelligence, utilities and services.

The change leaves AI as the largest group on the list. Grayscale included 10 AI-related assets on the list for the second quarter, up from seven in the previous quarter.

The revised list also added Canton in the smart contracts sector and Helium in utilities and services.

Meanwhile, Grayscale removed a wide mix of tokens from previous sector listings.

Names that are no longer included in the Q2 release are Aptos, Arbitrum, Binance Coin and Polkadot smart contracts. Euler, Lombard, Bloom network, and Skye from financial statements; and ARIA Protocol, Bonk and Playtron from the Consumer and Culture Group.

The result is a smaller, more focused menu. Smart contract assets fell to seven names from 10 in the previous quarter, while financial tokens fell to seven from 11. Utilities and services increased from five to six.
