Inpex has extended its Memorandum of Understanding, originally signed in July 2023, with Pertamina for Eternal LNG A project in the M’sila area. The company also signed another memorandum of understanding for exploration and production operations in Indonesia and Southeast Asia with PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE).

The 20 billion LNG project requires an annual natural gas production capacity of 10.5 million tons of gas equivalent, which is expected to be approximately 9.5 million tons of LNG. It is expected that condensate production will reach 35 thousand barrels per day.

Inpex Masila is the operator of the Abadi LNG project with a 65% stake. The company’s partners are Pertamina (20%) and Petronas (15%), respectively Shell exits in 2023. The Production Sharing Contract (PSC) runs until November 15, 2055.

Through the two MoUs, the two companies will continue to cooperate strategically in a wide range of areas with a focus on the value chain of the Abadi LNG project, while Inpex aims to form a collaborative effort with PHE in exploration and production business in Southeast Asia, with a particular focus on Indonesia.

The company expects that the two MoUs will contribute to expanding its natural gas and LNG businesses outlined in Inpex Vision 2035, which was announced in February 2025.
