Paragon Labs launches rapid screening service in British Columbia

Paragon Advanced Laboratories Launched a new laboratory service in British Columbia that combines photon screening and… VeracioRapid, non-destructive scanning technology to deliver fast and cost-effective whole rock geochemical results.

The integrated approach helps exploration teams access critical data early and make informed decisions while drilling programs remain active, addressing a key challenge facing BC’s mining exploration sector.

Addressing drilling window restrictions in British Columbia

Exploration companies in British Columbia face a constant challenge: limited drilling windows shaped by weather and access conditions, as well as delayed laboratory results during periods of peak activity. Traditional inspection workflows can take weeks during busy seasons, preventing real-time adjustments to drilling programs.

Paragon designed its new service model to eliminate this bottleneck by providing more comprehensive information without the need for additional sample preparation.

The laboratory prepares samples for photon scanning and submits them to the Veracio scanner in the same containers. High-energy scanning enables rapid detection of a wide range of elements, including trace elements sodium (Na) at low detection limits.

This joint process allows geologists to access consistent data sets sooner, supporting early interpretation and enabling modifications to the drilling program while field work is ongoing.

Speed meets decision making

Peter Shippen, CEO of Paragon Advanced Labs, stressed the importance of timely data delivery for field operations.

“In British Columbia, time is limited each field season. If results come in too late, the opportunity to act on them is lost. Our focus is on getting the data back quickly enough to influence what happens next.”

Photon testing provides fast, non-destructive gold analysis while eliminating traditional fire screening processes that slow down the turnaround during busy periods. Adding whole rock geochemistry through surveying supports timely decision making during active drilling programs rather than after the season.

Simplify laboratory integration

Paragon’s expanded service offering combines Photon Assay technology and Veracio scanning technology to create a more efficient path from sample receipt to results delivery. This streamlined approach helps exploration teams make informed decisions early in the drilling process.

Paragon Advanced Labs has established itself as a technology-enabled laboratory focused on integrating new analytical methods into practical applications that align with field exploration program operations.
