After a series of third-party audits, AFEX achieved FM 5970 HDME certification for the 1.5-gallon configuration of its compact liquid agent system – a certification that ensures the technology adheres to stringent safety standards.

“Third-party testing like the FM 5970 confirms that our systems will perform under the same extreme conditions our customers face every day,” said Kevin Kroll, AFEX Chief Operating Officer. “It’s about ensuring that when a fire occurs, the system responds exactly as expected – protecting the operator and helping to ensure operations continue safely.”

The certification process involves hundreds of realistic simulations and regular evaluations of facilities and systems in order to achieve the standard. In a press release, AFEX described this as a “milestone,” adding that it “builds on AFEX’s broader commitment to certified performance across its product range.”

AFEX is a manufacturer of heavy-duty fire protection systems. Its compact fluid system is specially designed for small machines with limited installation space.
