French tubing solutions provider Vallourec has been awarded a new contract for the Atapu-2 project in the Santos Basin offshore Brazil, this time with Allseas to supply carbon steel seamless line pipes and thermal insulation coating.
Allseas is responsible for the design, purchase, construction and installation of a Riser-based subsea system To develop the ultra-deepwater Atapu 2 field, located 230 kilometers offshore Rio de Janeiro, at water depths of 2,000 to 2,350 metres.
The company’s 327-meter pipelaying vessel Audacia will be deployed to begin work in the first quarter of 2029.
Valoric The company has been awarded a contract to supply 143 kilometers of rigid risers and flow lines, representing approximately 19,000 tons of bare pipe.
The seamless pipelines will be produced at Vallourec’s Jeceaba plant, while the associated thermal insulating coating will be carried out at Serra.
This is based on the Atapu-2 contract awarded to the French company in 2024 by Petrobras to supply Oil Countries Tubular Goods (OCTG) and accessories.
The production system at the Atapu-2 field will consist of 18 wells directly connected to the floating production storage and offloading unit (FPSO) through rigid jacks.
