Anthropic unveils Opus 4.7 as AI competition heats up



Anthropic has released Claude Opus 4.7, its most advanced AI model to date, representing a major upgrade in long-form reasoning, vision processing, and autonomous task execution.

The company also highlighted improved instruction-following behavior, noting that prompts should now be more accurate as the model carries out instructions more literally than in previous versions.

Focus on safety, cybersecurity and compliance

Anthropic stressed that Opus 4.7 maintains a similar security profile to Opus 4.6, with improved resistance to fast injection attacks and spoofed output in internal evaluations. However, the company acknowledged mixed results in areas such as highly detailed damage-related responses, underscoring ongoing alignment challenges.

The new cyber verification software will allow security professionals to test the model in controlled environments for penetration testing and vulnerability research.
