The Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU), said to be Argentina’s second LNG receiving facility, is restocking its arsenal with a new cargo of LNG from Naturgy Aprovisionamientos.

Naturgy was awarded the LNG shipping supply contract following an international open tender held on April 15, 2026. The company received the LNG Shipping Award from Argentine energywhich invited 39 pre-qualified companies to participate in the tender, but only six submitted bids in the final process.
The shipment is intended to replenish stocks at the FSRU located at Escobar station. The expected arrival date of the LNG cargo is the second week of May. the Escobar LNG (GNLE) The import terminal is located on the Paraná River, about 30 miles outside of Buenos Aires.
“This stock replenishment will make it possible to inject regasified gas into the system in the event of potential peaks in residential demand due to low temperatures, or in the event of unexpected failures in the natural gas transmission system.” Energia Argentina explained.
