Adoption of digital assets is moving to a more practical stage. The question is no longer which exchange has the highest retail brand. It is the platform that can give brokers, fintech companies, institutions and traders the infrastructure to connect to digital asset markets at scale.
KuCoin has been nominated for the Leader’s Award Digital Assets ADoption and The best trading infrastructure in BeInCrypto Enterprise 100 Awards 2026.

A snapshot of KuCoin’s institutional infrastructure
The nomination reflects KuCoin’s transformation from a retail trading venue to a broader liquidity and infrastructure provider. The exchange says it has surpassed 40 million users worldwide, while its institutional business now serves more than 1,000 brokers and fintech partners.
In a panel interview with BeInCrypto, Alison Chen, KuCoin’s institutional lead and VIP, described the change vividly.
“The industry has realized that retail interest is fleeting, but infrastructure is key,” Chen said. “KuCoin has fundamentally outpaced traditional retail marketing by becoming a highly accurate liquidity engine for over 1,000 brokers and fintech partners.”

Same company. Two registration papers
KuCoin’s double nomination is based on two related stories.
to Pioneer in digital asset adoptionThe issue centers on distribution. KuCoin operates in over 200 countries and regions, supports payment products such as KuCoin Pay and KuCard, and has expanded its regulated reach with an AUSTRAC registration in Australia and a MiCAR license for KuCoin EU in Austria.
MiCAR approval allows KuCoin EU to offer regulated crypto asset services across the European Economic Area.
to The best trading infrastructureThe case focuses on how KuCoin is changing the way institutions access liquidity.
The most obvious example of this is the over-the-counter settlement framework. Institutional clients can trade KuCoin while holding assets with a qualified custodian.
KuCoin has direct integrations with BitGo’s Go Network and Ceffu’s MirrorX, both of which are designed to reduce pre-funding and counterparty risk by decoupling custody from exchange execution.
This is important because institutional traders don’t just need an order book. They need separation of custody, settlement controls, collateral efficiency, and access to execution that fits within the regulated workflow.
Utah Advantage
KuCoin’s infrastructure nomination also focuses on Unified trading accountlaunched in 2026.
UTA allows traders to combine spot, futures and margin assets into a single account. KuCoin says the system supports shared margin, integrated risk management, low-latency order placement, cancellation, and message updates for professional and high-frequency traders.
“When our unified trading account architecture is coupled with global data transparency, it levels the playing field,” Chen said. “We don’t ask for trust, we provide data that makes trust inevitable.”
This data layer expanded in April 2026, when KuCoin made its futures market data available on TradingView. This integration gives TradingView’s 100+ million users access to KuCoin perpetual futures tokens, real-time market data, and liquidity insights directly within TradingView charts.
Transfer RWA collateral to trading infrastructure
KuCoin’s strongest institutional story is its RWA Color Mirroring Solution, or RCMS.
Through this framework, institutions can use tokenized real-world assets as collateral for trading without moving the underlying assets outside their regulated structure.
In 2025, KuCoin partnered with DigiFT to back UBS uMINT, a premium money market fund product, as an over-the-counter security. DigiFT described the integration as a way for token holders to use their funds as collateral through KuCoin’s mirroring program while improving capital efficiency.
KuCoin later expanded the framework with Asseto’s CASH+, a token product tied to a US dollar money market fund. KuCoin Institutional said the integration helps institutions deploy capital across traditional and digital markets while maintaining returns and maintaining control of assets.
This is where the two KuCoin nominations overlap. Adoption is no longer just about user growth. It is about whether real financial instruments can move into the cryptocurrency market structure without violating custody, compliance or collateral rules.
