CB&I, the design and construction company of storage facilities, tanks and terminals owned by a consortium of financial investors led by Mason Capital Management, has won a new deal for multiple LNG storage tanks for an LNG export project under development in Louisiana, US.

CB&I was awarded a contract with a significant total value of between $250 million and $500 million, along with the full amount Notice to proceed from Technip energies on behalf of cat For the engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction and pre-commissioning of five 50,000 m3 fully containment concrete LNG storage tanks for the planned project Commonwealth LNG A 9.5 million tons per year LNG export terminal is being built in Cameron, Louisiana.

This award includes the design of foundations and structures, piping to grade, and top platforms for LNG tanks. CB&I’s scope of work will be performed from its offices in the Houston and Plainfield, Illinois, area, with construction expected to begin in the third quarter of 2026 and targeted mechanical completion in 2029.
The contract follows Final Investment Decision (FID) For the $13 billion LNG project, which has secured long-term offtake agreements with several players, including EQT, Glencore, Mercuria, Petronasand Aramco Trading. The first phase is expected to go online in 2030.
