Canada Nickel (TSXV:CNC) It says its Crawford project has entered the final stage of federal review after the Impact Assessment Agency sent its report to the Environment and Climate Change Minister.
Crawford is the first mining project to reach Ottawa’s final review since Impact assessment law Updated in 2019.
Mark Selby, CEO of Canada Nickel, called the achievement a “milestone” after years of technical work, environmental planning and partnership with Indigenous people. “We appreciate the work of the Canadian Impact Assessment Agency and all those who have contributed to the development of Crawford through Canada’s modern impact assessment process,” he said in a press release, adding that the company aims to progress towards a construction decision in 2027.
Upon completion, Crawford will rank among the largest nickel sulphide projects in the Western world, according to the company.
The minister is expected to issue a decision within 30 days.
