Elon Musk says SpaceX aims to go beyond the economic value of planet Earth

Elon Musk believes that if SpaceX realizes its potential, the company itself will surpass the value of the rest of the planet.

Bold musk statement On X came in response to discussions about computing deals with competitors.

“You don’t seem to understand that SpaceX will be worth more than the rest of Earth if we achieve our goals.”

Musk links his vision to harnessing much more solar energy than is currently used on the planet, and points to concepts such as the Kardashev scale of civilizational progress.

His plans include orbital data centers, lunar settlements, and a significant presence on Mars via spacecraft fleets.

The broader context includes Musk’s parallel claims about Tesla’s potential dominance in autonomous driving and robotics contributing to global economic growth.

Musk has previously stated that space activities could dwarf Earth’s GDP by orders of magnitude through its energy abundance.

SpaceX recently completed a landmark initial public offering, raising billions and achieving a pivotal financial milestone.

Critics point to continued post-IPO stock price volatility, with SPCX’s price recently falling below its IPO price of $135.
