French technology containment specialist Gaztransport & Technigaz (GTT) has been appointed by South Korea’s Hanwha Ocean shipyard to design a tank for a new liquefied natural gas carrier (LNGC).
GTT received an order from Hanwha Ocean in Q2 2026 to design a new LNG tanker on behalf of an undisclosed European shipowner.
The French player will design the ship’s cryogenic tanks, which provide a total capacity of 174,000 cubic metres.
The tanks will be fitted with the company’s NO96 Super+ membrane containment system. The ship is scheduled to be delivered in the third quarter of 2029.
