HERITAGE MINING LIMITED. (Private search engine: HML FRA: Y66) reported the results of an ongoing drilling program at the Melba Project, located 22 km northeast of Kirkland Lake and 90 km southeast of Timmins in northeastern Ontario, Canada.
Assays were reported from drill hole ML3855-001, which returned 9.34 g/t gold over 2.00m of 67m, including 18.25 g/t gold over 1.00m of 67.0m, with visible gold observed in the core; 6.07 g/t Au over 2m from 92.50m, including 21.74 g/t Au over 0.50m from 93m with visible gold noted in the core; 1.33 g/t gold over 1.5 meters of 97 Mg visible gold in the core.
Drill hole M3800-001 has been completed and the core is being processed for examination. M3800-002 will begin drilling soon and the company will conduct targeted core measurements to determine the impact and retreat of multiple vein groups.
MILBA PROJECT – MULTIPLE VISIBLE GOLD INSTANCES RETURN HIGH-GRADE GOLD: “Multiple high-grade intervals of multiple visible gold intersections were returned in drill hole ML3855-001. Furthermore, the recently completed drill hole ML3800-001 tested the company’s concept of a ‘stacked vein system’ at Melba. Drill hole ML3800-002 will test deeper levels of intersecting veins in ML3800-001. We are still We believe that broader areas of quartz and veins could converge into a much larger mineral system at Melba,” commented Peter Schlow, President, CEO and Heritage Director.
The mineralized zone is strongly structurally controlled, containing multigenerational veins that host features associated with breccia, shearing, and extension. The vein morphologies and overprint relationships are the product of multiple fluid intrusion events, which are characterized by large, mountain-style gold deposits globally. Diamond drill intersections indicate a braided system of shear host veins with altered wall rocks intervening in areas of damage. The braided character of the veins and historical mapping from Melba’s underground workings has given variable orientations to mineral structures and wall rocks, which will be assessed through an advanced program of directional core drilling.
The company is developing its Ontario portfolio of projects in northwestern and northeastern Ontario. The Drayton-Black Lake, Contact Bay and Scattergood projects are located near Sioux Lookout in the unexplored Eagle-Wabigoon-Manitou Greenstone Belt. Melba’s property is located near Ramor, Ontario.
