A group of national industry players have come together to form the UAE’s first shipbuilding association, which will align national shipbuilding capabilities to drive maritime innovation and growth.
According to AD Ports, the initiative is designed to enhance coordination across the local maritime sector and provide opportunities for SMEs to access larger, more complex projects in both local and international markets.
The consortium brings together an initial group of UAE players in the fields of shipbuilding, steel production, marine engineering and manufacturing, including AD Ports Group, SAFEEN Drydocks, Premier Marine Engineering Services, Dubai Shipbuilding and Engineering (DSBE), Al Seer Marine, Dutch Oriental, JOME Engineering, Saifee, Blue Gulf Ship Builders, MBK Marine Industries, among others.
The aim is to enhance collaboration, enhance the UAE’s position in the maritime industry sector, improve visibility across project pipelines, enable more efficient procurement processes, support coordinated implementation, and increase delivery capacity and overall competitiveness of the sector across the full maritime value chain.
The consortium is led by Noatum Maritime, part of AD Ports Group’s maritime and shipping group.
