Canadian users can already place orders directly from Cashtags through a trial integration with Wealthsimple.
X has launched a feature called “Cashtags” that allows users to view real-time stock and cryptocurrency charts directly within the app.
The feature is currently available to iPhone users in the US and Canada.
How hashtags work
X Head of Product, Nikita Beer, Announce Cashtags will launch on April 14, putting it in a framework around the social platform’s current role in financial markets.
“X has always been the best source of financial news for traders and investors,” Pierre wrote. “Billions of dollars are allocated every day based on what people read on the timeline.”
Simply put, Cashtags are like traditional hashtags but for funding. This feature is built around stock ticker symbols or cryptocurrency tokens preceded by dollar signs which have now been converted into clickable links that connect X users to relevant financial information about that asset. In the past, these tags only highlighted cursor-like texts and linked them to the underlying signals.
According to Pierre, when a user searches or posts a coin tag for a specific asset or contract address, X will automatically suggest relevant stocks or cryptocurrencies from which they can choose the coin they want. What’s more, clicking on the coin tag will bring up the posts you mentioned as well as their price chart, all without having to leave X. This way, users will be able to match the chat on the platform to the correct token or stock. This means that traders will no longer have to switch between X and separate charting tools to indicate what they are reading.
Even beer He pointed out That people will be able to use information from Cashtags to seamlessly trade from
Solana too certain Cashtags will run on its network, with ecosystem token pricing data powered by Jupiter Exchange, historical data provided by Birdeye, and underlying infrastructure developed by Dialect and Helius.

Others suggested the tool could be used outside of funding to cover live events, news and sports, with dedicated boards for discussion and real-time data, to which Pierre responded by saying: “Give me 18 hours,” referring to the rapid iteration.
