NEW BRIC RESOURCES LIMITED (NPRKCSE has announced the resumption of drilling at its 100% owned Murray gold project, located 49 kilometers south of Timmins, Ontario, and 32 kilometers northwest of the Young Davidson gold mine, which is operated by CSE. Alamos Gold Company (General artificial intelligence(TSX, New York Stock Exchange).
The drilling work now underway is part of a 10,000 meter drilling program planned for 2026.
The company is active in an area where new deposits and new sources of ore are being sought by a number of operators in the area. The hope is that if New Break can expand the newly discovered Zavitz area, and find other deposits in the Moray, it will attract the attention of major players in the Timmins gold camp.
Earlier this year, New Break drilled 3,376 meters in 22 holes, including 20 holes in the Zavitz Gold Zone, leading to another excellent period of gold mining, the company said. Hole NBR-26-05 returned the best mafic volcanic interval of 3.46 g/t gold over 38.6 meters from 82.0 to 120.6 metres. Perhaps even more significant is the fact that drilling led to periods of gold mineralization in syenite. Specifically, hole NBR-26.09 returned 1.31 g/t gold over 8.5 meters from 76.0 to 84.5 metres, and hole NBR-26-12 returned 1.13 g/t gold over 7.5 meters from 36.0 to 43.5 metres.
The summer drilling program is expected to consist of 2,500 meters in at least 11 drill holes, with the first two or three holes designed to fill the top of existing mineralized holes. The company said this is a necessary measure, both in terms of compiling the information required for mineral resource estimation and for internal analysis regarding open pit economics.
The remaining syenite drill holes will be cordoned and drilled again through contact with mafic volcanics to specifically test for the extension of gold mineralization into syenite. If successful, the mineralization is expected to be of a lower degree than in mafic volcanoes due to the nature of the host rock.
Notably, the company said, the Young Davidson gold mine evolved from a relatively narrow, high-grade vein deposit into one of the largest underground gold mines in Canada when deep drilling showed that the adjacent syenite mine hosts widespread gold mineralization suitable for bulk underground mining.
At Young-Davidson, it is syenite that contains the majority of the estimated gold mineral reserves. “Demonstrating the ability of the Murray Intrusive to be mined at scale, with the potential to host a significant gold deposit, would be of great interest to a potential acquirer,” New Break said in a press release.
New Break shares were unchanged at 24 cents on Tuesday and are trading in a 52-week range of 44 cents and $0.06.
