The Palau Ship Register (PSR) indicates that some media reports described M/T MARIVEX (IMO number 9464156) as a vessel registered under the Palau flag. This claim is inaccurate.
To avoid any misunderstanding, the vessel M/T MARIVEX was not registered with the Palau Ship Registry at the time of the incident in the Gulf of Oman reported in the media.
M/T MARIVEX, formerly known as ARIHANT, has not held valid certificates of registration issued by the Palau Ship Registry since 6 March 2026, when a registry closure certificate was issued following the vessel’s removal from the Palau flag.
Accordingly, on 8 June 2026, the date referred to in the relevant reports, the vessel did not have valid certificates of registration issued by the Republic of Palau.
PSR has already notified the relevant authorities and provided supporting records confirming the deletion of the vessel, while maintaining its commitment to maintaining accurate records of vessel registration and the integrity of the Palau flag.
