The TC1 75kt MEG/Japan index remained stable this week around the WS525-530 mark.

The journey west also saw the TC20 90kt MEG/UK-Continent also hold at $10.25-10.3 million.

The TC15 80kt Mediterranean/Eastern fell another 21% this week to $5.95 million with the corresponding TCE falling to $39,000 on the day on a round trip to describe the Baltic region.

The TC5 55kt MEG/Japan Index was eventually priced 15 points lower this week to WS555.

Heading west on the TC8 65kt MEG/UK-Continent saw the index fall $200,000 at the end of the week at $8.27 million.

The TC17 35kt MEG/East Africa index has remained relatively flat this week holding at WS725-730 or $90,000 per day on the Baltic roundtrip TCE.

In the UK continent, MR shipping suffered bearish pressure again this week. The TC2 37kt ARA/US-Atlantic Coast index is down 19 points from last week at WS159, with the Baltic TCE roundtrip now at $7,400 on the day.

In the US Gulf, MR shipping levels were able to recover this week. The price of the TC14 38kt in the Gulf/UK and US continent has risen by 35 points to WS195 with Baltic round trip TCE now at $16,000 per day. The TC21, 38 knot US-Gulf/Caribbean voyage also rose 59% from last week to US$807,000 with the corresponding TCE cost rising US$18,000 per day to its current level of US$22,800 per day on the Baltic description.

The MR Atlantic Triangulation Basket TCE rose from $22,116 on the day to $27,509 on the day.

Handy Max

In the Mediterranean, Handymax prices rose 70 points this week with the TC6 index, 30 carats across the Mediterranean falling to WS267, equivalent to $38,000 per day round trip on the Baltic Sea TCE.

TC23 30kt Cross UK-Continent has also dropped to WS291 this week (-23) and is still offering $42,000 per day round trip on the Baltic Sea TCE.

VLCC

Sentiment in the VLCC market became softer this week. Panelists from the Baltic region now rate the price for the TD3C route (270,000 MT from the Middle East Gulf to China) five points lower than last Friday at WS391.88, which corresponds to a daily round-trip TCE cost of US$389,536 for standard Baltic VLCCs. TD34 (Gulf of Oman/China) was assessed on Thursday at WS132.8, up nearly 3 points from last Friday.

In the Atlantic market, the price of the 260,000t West Africa to China (TD15) route was reduced by almost 6 points this week, at WS124, giving a TCE round trip of around US$91,300, while the US Gulf route to China (TD22) was reduced by US$85,000 to just over the US$17,000,000 mark, giving a daily round trip From TCE it’s just over $105,000.

Suezmax

On the Suezmax sector, the rate for the 130,000 metric ton Nigeria-UK trip (TD20) fell by 15 points this week to WS160 which translates to a daily round trip of US$62,760. The TD27 (Guyana to continental UK 130,000 mt) route lost about 12 spots to just under WS169, offering a daily round trip TCE of about $69,100. The 145,000t USG/UKC Baltic Route (TD33) is weaker again, losing 6 spots to just under WS159.

In the Black Sea, prices for the 135,000 mt CPC/Augusta TD6 route fell 5 points to WS221.5, meaning a daily TCE of around $124,900.

Aframax

In the North Sea, the rate for the 80,000-ton transcontinental route (TD7) dropped 16 points to just under WS160, saving a daily round-trip TCE of around $54,200 from Hound Point to Wilhelmshaven.

In the Mediterranean, the price for the 80,000 mt Trans-Mediterranean (TD19) remained steady at the WS173.5-175 mark (based on Ceyhan to Lavera, this shows a daily round trip from TCE at just over $37,100).

Across the Atlantic, the market continued to decline. The 70,000-ton US East Mexico/Gulf Coast route (TD26) fell again, losing 32 spots to WS212.78, giving a daily round-trip TCE of about $43,500. The 70,000-ton Covinas/US Bay (TD9) route also lost 32 points to WS207.19 (which translates to a daily round trip of US$41,599).

The price on the 70,000t US Gulf/UK Continent (TD25) transatlantic route fell by about 33 points this week to WS192.5 giving a round trip on a TCE Houston/Rotterdam basis at about $36,000 per day.

For Vancouver exports, the price of TD28 (80,000 tons of crude oil from Vancouver to China) fell by $450,000 this week to $3,670,000 (saving a round trip from TCE of about $56,800 per day) while the price of TD29 (80,000 tons of crude oil from Vancouver to the Pacific spark point off the USWC) fell by 23%.
