A major billion-dollar bank discloses a major data breach affecting the private and confidential information of American customers, according to a state government filing.
TD reported the incident to regulators in mid-June 2026 after discovering that an employee had unauthorized access to customer records between January 7 and January 30, 2026. He says Filed with the Massachusetts state government.
The exposed data includes highly sensitive personal and financial information.
“Personal information that may have been included is your name, address, phone number, date of birth, Social Security number, account number, and transaction data.”
The breach was classified as an internal incident with no evidence of external compromise or further misuse reported at the time of disclosure.
After the data breach, TD Bank says it is offering its customers “additional assurances.”

This best-in-class service helps detect misuse of your personal information. It also provides you with identity search and resolution services to protect your identity if you suspect a problem for any reason.
