TechnipFMC offers an integrated approach to Vår Energi’s subsea projects in the North Sea


Norwegian oil and gas company Vår Energi has awarded TechnipFMC an integrated engineering, procurement, construction and installation (iEPCI) contract for subsea interconnection development projects in the North Sea.

TechnipFMC on June 25 reported the iEPCI contract for the Ofelia and Gjøa Nord projects in the Gjøa region, described as “big”which the company defines as being worth between $500 million and $1 billion.

The direct award follows a A five-year cooperation agreement The companies signed in 2025 to deliver subsea projects using the integrated TechnipFMC model and accelerate development through coordinated portfolio execution.

This approach requires deep collaboration and is enabled by TechnipFMC’s unique integrated execution model. We are pleased to support Vår Energi’s ambition to deliver first oil within two years.”

This comes as our energy Make a final investment decision (FID) in Gjøa subsea projects, and together with its partners submitted the Plan Development and Operations (PDO) for the development of Ofelia and Gjøa Nord to the Norwegian Ministry of Energy.

Gjøa’s subsea projects include the development of the Ofelia, Gjøa Nord and Cerisa discoveries as a coordinated subsea development project linked to the Gjøa and Duva infrastructure. Cerissa is expected to become operational in the third quarter of 2027, followed by Ophelia and Giwa Nord in the second half of 2028.

This engagement involves the development of approximately 76 million barrels of gross oil equivalent and 27 million barrels of net oil equivalent for Vår Energi in proven and probable reserves.
