Norwegian energy data and intelligence company TGS has signed a strategic agreement with the Republic of Equatorial Guinea to acquire, process, reprocess and enhance seismic and geophysical data across the country’s marine basins.

TGS It announced on April 16 that it will deliver a fully integrated approach to subsurface challenges, by combining advanced seismic imaging technologies with extensive data acquisition and processing expertise in Equatorial Guinea, which will support exploration activity and help increase production across the country.
The agreement also supports new broadband seismic data acquisition using multi-sensor GeoStreamer technology.
According to the Norwegian company, this cooperation is expected to contribute significantly to reducing the risks of oil systems within the highly prospective Rio del Rey and Rio Muni basins.
“Through this agreement, TGS can provide access to a comprehensive data framework, including local, regional and basin-level datasets through the MegaSurvey approach.” He said David HagovskyExecutive Vice President of Multi-Customers at TGS.
“This will enable more effective assessment of forecasts, runs and basins. Additionally, operators in the region will benefit from reprocessed data derived from the original field tapes using TGS’s advanced imaging techniques, designed to overcome current subsurface imaging challenges.”
TGS recently She won her third contract For the European offshore wind market for the summer 2026 season. Under the approximately one-and-a-half-month contract, Ramform Vanguard will begin acquiring data in the second half of July.
