Astro Offshore, a Dubai-based marine vessel operator, is a member of the Adani Group It has expanded its fleet with a new multi-purpose support vessel (MPSV). This addition is described as the largest ship in the company’s fleet.

Astro Offshore has added a 2021-built MPSV Savannah energywill be renamed soon Astro Atlasto its growing fleet, which is seen as an important step forward in the company’s expansion into ultra-deepwater operations and new international markets. The 97-metre-long DP2 MPSV is now seen as the largest vessel in the company’s fleet to date.
Astro Atlas will be published under a charter agreement with International Oceanographic Societyan applied subsea engineering and technology company, supports subsea-focused offshore operations in complex deepwater environments.
The UAE-based player explained: “This combines Astro Offshore’s modern, high-specification vessel capabilities with Oceaneering’s subsea and ROV expertise, enabling the efficient execution of construction, installation and intervention scopes.
“The engagement marks the beginning of a growing working relationship, coupled with continued investment in advanced maritime capabilities to support future maritime developments across key markets.“
Equipped with a 150-tonne AHC subsea crane, a 25-tonne secondary crane, a moon pool and accommodation for up to 100 personnel, the vessel is designed to support a wide range of offshore operations, including subsea construction, cable laying and pipeline installation.

According to Astro Offshore, Astro Atlas enables it to enter the ultra-deepwater market for the first time, opening up access to more complex, high-value offshore projects, with the ability to operate in water depths of more than 3,000 metres.
The vessel’s advanced DP2 system and rugged design are said to enable safe and efficient operations in challenging environments, further enhancing the company’s global service offering.
The vessel’s enhanced capabilities and deepwater capabilities allow for deployment across a broader range of maritime environments, expanding the company’s geographic presence across multiple continents, including Europe, and supporting more complex maritime ranges.
