The Baltic Exchange’s dry bulk shipping index, which monitors prices for ships carrying dry bulk goods, fell for the fourth session on Wednesday, down 1.6% to its lowest level since May 11 at 3,005 points.
The cargo volume index, which usually transports 150,000 tons of cargo including iron ore and coal, fell 1.4% to 4,880 points; The Panamax index, which usually carries between 60,000 and 70,000 tons of coal or grain, fell 3.5% to 2,374 points.
Among small ships, the Supramax index fell by 0.1% to 1,566 points.
