The Baltic Drought Index falls for the third day


The Baltic Exchange’s dry bulk shipping index, which monitors prices for ships carrying dry bulk goods, fell for a third session on Tuesday, falling about 1.2% to its lowest level in more than a week at 3,054 points, amid widespread weakness across ship sectors.

The cargo volume index, which usually transports 150,000 tons of cargo including iron ore and coal, fell 1.3% to 4,949 points; The Panamax index, which usually carries between 60,000 and 70,000 tons of coal or grain, fell 2.1% to 2,459 points.

Among small ships, the Supramax index fell by 0.1% to 1,568 points.
