A multi-client 3D seismic survey is on the agenda in a frontier area in Brazilian waters, with Norwegian energy data and intelligence company TGS and its joint venture partner, US-based SLB, at the helm of a campaign that will help boost hydrocarbon exploration momentum in the South American country.
TGS, in a joint venture with SLB, shed light on Pelotas Sol Phase 1 Multi-client 3D seismic survey in Pelvic balls Marine in southern Brazil, which includes a balanced mix of owned and open space, providing opportunities for near-term valuation and additional sales related to future licensing rounds.
the Rhamform Tethys The vessel was mobilized in December 2025 for the survey, covering approximately 13,500 square kilometers, and data acquisition is expected to be completed early in the third quarter of 2026. The project is seen as an important step in expanding high-quality seismic coverage of energy and intelligence data across what is described as one of Brazil’s most promising frontier regions.

The company asserts that the Pelotas Basin has witnessed increasing interest in recent years, supported by its extensive geological counterparts, including successful exploration results along the conjugate margin.
This area features a variety of play concepts, including turbidite systems, deep-water channels, and stratigraphic and structural traps that remain unexplored.
